About AAC

The American Autoflower Cup (AAC) was born out of a shared passion — to recognize and celebrate those who are redefining the future of cannabis through autoflower genetics. About five years ago, we dreamed of creating an event that would finally give autos the respect and visibility they deserve. At that time, autoflowers had already been around for over a decade, but the American growing community remained deeply rooted in tradition: first regular genetics, then feminized strains… and now, little by little, autoflowers are finally earning the recognition they’ve long deserved.

The first American Autoflower Cup took place in January 2023, on the legendary Green Street in Los Angeles. It was a small, almost secret event — pure California soul with a pioneering spirit. But from that day on, something shifted. Growers and industry professionals began looking at autos in a whole new way. The 2024 edition doubled in size, became more vibrant, more open, and by 2025, we broke all records: 80 samples analyzed by 12 professional judges from the industry, new categories like Strongest Auto by Cannabinoid Content and the innovative Auto Hash, and a growing, passionate community behind it all. From day one, we knew we wanted to do things right. Every single sample that enters the Cup is tested in the most prestigious laboratories in California, where cannabinoid and terpene levels are analyzed in depth, along with screenings for pesticides, heavy metals, mold, and mycotoxins. Only pure, clean samples make it to the judges’ tables. This meticulous process doesn’t just ensure safety and transparency — it raises the standard for the entire autoflower industry, setting a new benchmark for professionalism, quality, and credibility.

Today, the American Autoflower Cup has become an elite competition that brings together the best breeders and growers in the United States. Our mission is to highlight innovation, genetic quality, and the scientific breakthroughs that are driving a new era for autoflowers. Each edition showcases the best of the best, giving growers and breeders a stage to present their work to the community. Winning an AAC title doesn’t just bring international recognition — it opens doors to new markets, buyers, and media exposure.

None of this would be possible without the experience and vision of our Cup Curator, Jeremy Norrie. Known for his work on legendary events like The Secret Cup and Chalice California, Jeremy is an iconic figure in the West Coast cannabis scene. Since the early days of the medical cannabis movement in California, he’s been part of the industry’s history. Today, he’s part of our team with the same passion, overseeing every detail — from sample evaluation to the production of the Award Ceremony. His background as a film director and producer adds a unique creative touch that makes every edition of the American Autoflower Cup an authentic, professional, and — as we like to say — absolutely dope experience. Today, the American Autoflower Cup is more than just a competition — it’s a community that drives innovation, education, and respect for autoflower genetics!
